CREATING SOMETHING NEW

As a part of continuing to push myself as a designer, I enjoy developing self-directed projects that allow me the space to create projects that I otherwise might not get the opportunity to work on. This practice not only helps to keep my skills sharp, but it also pushes me to pursue areas of work that I am the most interested in. This often leads to new ideas and skills that I can then bring into my professional work. One of these self-directed projects was a series of event collateral for one of my favorite comedian’s tours. After going to his Austin show, I knew that I wanted to design a poster and some supporting items that matched the off-beat and fantastic energy of the show.
